Pierrick Maeder in Lausanne (VD)

The man with 40 vintages

Pierrick Maeder Tourmentin

Pierrick Maeder has known Tourmentin since 1988, when the Rouvinez brothers first marketed the wine as a blend. As a connoisseur of exceptional wines, it was only natural that he should become a fan of this Swiss cru, which was so special at the time. Year after year, he built up a fine collection. That is, until he suffered the shock of his life: the 2007 vintage could not be vinified because of a bad weather year.

Recovering from his emotions, he then ordered 6 empty bottles from us, but with the label of the 2007 vintage in the manner of the great French châteaux. But organising these 6 labels would have been too tedious and too expensive. Pierrick Mander had to make do with leaving an empty rack in his cellar. Nevertheless, he remains a fierce advocate of Tourmentin.
