This chicken simmered in Nez Noir beer is the perfect example. The poultry's tenderness harmonizes beautifully with the malty and slightly hoppy notes of the beer, while slow cooking creates a creamy, rich sauce.

A convivial dish, ideal for meals with family or friends, proving that an excellent recipe doesn't necessarily require a long list of ingredients.

Ingredients (for 4 people)

4 chicken thighs

33 cl Nez Noir Blonde beer

2 tablespoons whole grain mustard

2 garlic cloves

1 onion

2 sprigs of thyme

2 bay leaves

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 to 2 tablespoons cream

Salt and pepper

Preparation

In a Dutch oven, heat the olive oil. Salt and pepper the chicken thighs, then brown them over medium heat for about 5 minutes on each side until nicely colored. Set aside.

In the same Dutch oven, sauté the finely sliced onion and crushed garlic cloves until translucent.

Pour in the Nez Noir Blonde beer to deglaze the cooking juices. Add the mustard, thyme, and bay leaf, then mix thoroughly.

Return the chicken thighs to the Dutch oven, cover, and simmer over low heat for about 45 minutes. The meat should become tender and absorb the beer's aromas.

At the end of cooking, stir in a little cream to add more richness to the sauce.

Serve with white rice, steamed potatoes, or homemade mashed potatoes.

And of course, pair this dish with a glass of Nez Noir beer to extend the gourmet experience.

Enjoy!

A simple and generous recipe by Frédéric Rouvinez.
